Join local contemporary coastal artist, Joanna McOwen, for an intermediate painting workshop  of colourful and expressive acrylics inspired by the beautiful coastal, native plants of the Surf Coast. Enjoy this fun painting workshop suitable for all levels. 

Please arrive no later than 9.50am as we have a full day! You will start the day being surrounded by colour love and learn acrylic painting techniques, mark-making, and layering to create your flora inspired artwork. You will take time adding magic to your beautiful, abstract piece to take home.

No experience is necessary but I would recommend you have completed the beginner's workshop first to give you a good grounding.  All abilities welcome.  Morning tea included.

Date: Sunday 12th November 2023

When: 10am - 2pm 

Where:  The Lightbox Studios, Torquay

Facilitator: Joanna McOwen 

Tea, coffee and gluten-free morning treats are provided. Lunch is not included.

Painting Inclusions: All materials from paints to brushes, paper to canvases are included in the workshop. If you have your own brushes you would like to bring along please feel free. You will leave the workshop with your finished canvas and all your practice pieces. 

What to wear: Wear comfortable clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting paint on. Feel free to bring an apron to cover your clothes.

Workshop booking conditions:

A minimum of 8 participants is required for the date to go ahead. If you give more than 10 days notice prior to commencement of the workshop or course, you may receive a full refund for your course fee. Cancellations between 3-10 days from the workshop date will not receive a refund, but you may reschedule for a future date (to the value of your course fee). Cancellations less than three days from the start date will not be refunded. Your purchase is in acceptance of these terms. Booking is transferable to another person, subject to your own private arrangement. 

If we are required to cancel the workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, such as government-mandated lockdowns, each participant will be offered the choice of credit or refund of your course fee. If you are feeling unwell or showing any flu-like symptoms please let Joanna know as soon as possible and we will reschedule your workshop.
