I am Joanna, a British-Australian artist living a happy family life with my husband and wild 7 year old girl in the south-west corner of regional Victoria, Australia after a sensational stint in the south island of my beloved NZ. Our home is teeny tiny but only one block from the southern ocean which roars so loudly it keeps us awake at night.
Originally from Hampshire in the UK, I studied a BA (Hons) in Textile Design with a specialism in print making at Leeds University and a postgraduate in Interior Design at Chelsea College of Art. Working as a fabric buyer, I decided to then travel the world, my absolute passion, where my wanderlust lead me to travel and work all over the world from Namibia to Brazil, Morocco to Vietnam, finally emigrating to Australia in 2004 to run and then own an award winning travel business. Let's just say travelling and creativity is in our genes.
Colour is something I adore. I use modern coastal colours to paint large and small original landscapes and florals in oil and acrylic in my home studio here in beautiful Warrnambool on the shipwreck coast of Aus. I am lucky enough to say my paintings have been bought by collectors all over the world and are stocked in beautiful homewares shops in Australia and NZ.
I finally returned 'home' to my first love of painting in 2018 after being so inspired by the landscapes around me and was overwhelmed by the support for my pieces.
