COMMISSIONS

Commission a Coastal Landscape Painting or Botanical Artwork

I love creating custom acrylic and oil paintings for art lovers — whether it’s vibrant botanical art or dramatic coastal and countryside landscapes. My style is expressive, colourful, and intuitive. Working closely with each client, I design something truly special for their home, workplace, or as a meaningful gift.

What Does It Mean to Commission a Painting?

Commissioning a painting means we work together to create a one-of-a-kind artwork that’s tailored to your vision. Unlike buying directly from my existing originals, a commission is a collaborative process — you choose the subject, colour palette, and size, and I bring it to life on canvas.

What Can I Paint for You?

My work often features the coastal landscapes of southwest Victoria, the rolling hills of the Grampians, the rugged Great Ocean Road, and scenes inspired by my time in the South Island of New Zealand. Whether you dream of a windswept seascape, a golden canola field, or a mountain vista, I can create a painting that reflects your favourite location anywhere in the world.

How the Commission Process Works

  1. Initial Consultation – We’ll arrange a video chat to discuss your ideas, review examples of my work, and share any reference photos you have.

  2. Defining the Artwork – We’ll decide on subject, scale, composition, and colour palette.

  3. Creating the Piece – I work intuitively without an initial sketch, but I’ll update you with photos so you can request small adjustments.

  4. Finishing Touches – Your painting will be dated, signed front and back, and varnished for protection.

Choosing the Right Size

Measure your wall space and tape out the dimensions you have in mind. This helps ensure your new painting will fit perfectly in your home or workplace.

Framing Options

All works are painted on heavy-duty pine frames with duck cotton canvas and finished painted edges, ready to hang. I can also arrange Tasmanian oak framing for local clients.

Pricing & Payment

  • Acrylic commissions on canvas start at $600 (300 x 400 x 35mm) — price varies by size and complexity.

  • A 40% deposit is due upon booking, with the balance payable on completion.

Shipping & Delivery

  • Free delivery anywhere in Australia for sizes up to 300 x 400mm.

  • For larger works or international shipping, I’ll arrange a courier and provide the best rates. International buyers may be subject to local taxes or duties.

Timeframe

The timeline depends on size, complexity, and my current schedule. If you need the painting for a specific date (e.g., a wedding or milestone celebration), please let me know during our initial consultation.

Gifting a Commission

I regularly create commissions as surprise wedding, anniversary, or birthday gifts — working with families or groups to produce a deeply personal present.

Returns & Refunds

As each piece is custom-made, commissions are non-refundable unless damaged in transit (proof required). Please see my full refund policy.
